Scripture: Psalm 27:8 When you said, “Seek my face”, my heart said to you, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
Devotional
Whenever you feel the need to draw near to God it is him drawing you in. He has sent the invitation to your heart and is gently beckoning to you to meet with him.
In Psalm 27:8 David recognized that it was God calling to him by placing it on his heart to seek God more. I too have been awakened in the middle of the night with the urge to seek God, by spending time with him in prayer and study. I joke that he is calling me to meet him at the table that I frequently study the bible at.
Know that you are not the only one pursuing him. You are answering the call he has made inviting you to spend time with him.
God calls you because he wants to spend time with you not because he needs you but because he loves you. He delights in bringing us near him. Whenever you turn your heart toward him, he is already leaning in toward you.
Drawing near to God isn’t about trying it’s about responding, it’s about presence and being present in his presence. It’s not about what you can give him, it’s about what he wants to ogive you- HIM
Today be still and acknowledge that the desire to seek God is evidence that he is seeking you.

- When have you felt God calling you to draw near to him?
- What has been a distraction or hinderance from seeking his face?
- How has your perspective changes knowing God picks up the spiritual phone and calls you first?
Guided Prayer
“Father, thank you for drawing me near to you, inviting me to seek your face and turn my heart towards you. Help me to quiet the noise of life enough to recognize your voice. Draw me close, I want to know you more. Amen”

(List where you feel him tugging on your heart, areas to surrender to him, places he wants to heal, times he’s nudged you to rest and be still. Just write about it)

“God has been blowing my phone up calling me to draw near to him and today I answer the call. I seek his face and he meets me where I am.”
